LCDR Michael Enriquez

Lt. Cmdr. Michael "CAL" Enriquez was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in history. Following his commission, Enriquez completed primary flight training with Training Squadron (VT) 28 and advanced multi-engine flight training with VT-35 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi, Texas. He received his Wings of Gold in August 2010.

Upon completion of fleet replacement squadron training in the P-3C Orion, Enriquez reported to the "Red Lancers" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 10 at NAS Jacksonville, Florida, in June 2011. There he completed multiple deployments to the Arabian Gulf in support of Operations New Dawn and Inherent Resolve, and to Japan. He was designated aircraft commander, mission commander, special missions aircraft commander and functional check pilot.

After his fleet tour, Enriquez reported to the "Boomers" of VT-27 at NAS Corpus Christi in November 2014 for duty as a primary flight instructor pilot in the T-6B Texan II. He was designated aircraft commander, navigation stage standardization officer and standardization instructor pilot in all phases of primary training. At the end of his shore tour, Enriquez transferred to U.S. Navy Reserve Full-Time Support and received orders to the "Rangers" of VT-28 as a department head.

In September 2017, Enriquez was selected as the Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) officer and T-6 NATOPS instructor for the Training Air Wing 4 Flight Instructor Training Unit (FITU). While at the FITU, Enriquez also acted as operations officer and assistant officer-in-charge (OIC). In February 2020, he became the FITU OIC, overseeing the training of all incoming instructors under training (IUT), helicopter-to-logistics support transition pilots, and Navy Test Pilot School students in the T-6B and the T-44C Pegasus.

In March 2020, Enriquez earned his Executive Master of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School.

Enriquez has accumulated over 2,900 mishap-free flight hours in four different aircraft. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and expeditionary awards.
