CDR Patrick Foster

CDR Patrick "Fredo" Foster is a native of Christiansted, US Virgin Islands, and attended the University of Maine where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development. He commissioned as an ensign from ROTC in June 2002, and was designated a naval aviator in June 2004 from the "Golden Eagles" of Training Squadron 22 aboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Kingsville, Texas.

After completing fleet replacement pilot training in the F/A-18C Hornet with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 125 aboard NAS Lemoore, California, he reported to the "Sidewinders" of VFA-86 in Aug 2005. He deployed with Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. While with the Sidewinders, he served as aircraft branch division officer and schedules officer.

In June 2008, CDR Foster reported back to the "Golden Eagles" of VT-22 as an instructor in the T-45A/C Goshawk where he finished as the assistant operations officer.

In March 2011, CDR Foster reported to Carrier Strike Group Eleven as the assistant air operations officer. While there, he also had the opportunity to serve as the Admiral's Flag LT with RDML Gumataotao and RDML White.

In November 2013, CDR Foster transitioned into the Reserves as an FTS (now TAR) officer and reported to Fighter Composite Squadron 111 aboard NAS Key West, Florida. There he served as a fleet adversary pilot flying the F-5N Tiger II.

In November 2015, CDR foster reported for a department head tour with Training Squadron 9 aboard NAS Meridian, MS. In 2018 he transitioned into the Selected Reserves, joined Squadron Augment Unit 9. In 2020, CDR Foster accepted a re-appointment as a TAR officer and is currently serving as the TW-1 Reserve Program Director (RPD). CDR Foster has flown over 3,500 hours in naval aircraft with more than 200 carrier-arrested landings and over 5,000 hours of total flight time. Personal decorations include the Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and other service and unit awards.
