CDR Seamus O'Brien

Commander Seamus N. O'Brien is a native of Laconia, New Hampshire and received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from College of the Holy Cross. Through the Naval ROTC program at Holy Cross, Commander O'Brien was commissioned in May of 2006. Following flight school, he was designated a Naval Aviator in February, 2009 and was selected to fly the E-2C Hawkeye.

Commander O'Brien was then sent to the "Greyhawks" of VAW-120, the Fleet Replacement Squadron for all Hawkeye pilots in Norfolk, VA. Finishing second in his class during Carrier Qualification, he was sent as a "Priority A" pilot to the already deployed "Black Eagles" of VAW-113 in June, 2010. While at VAW-113, he deployed multiple times aboard the USS Ronald Reagan supporting operations in the Pacific and Middle East.

Following his fleet tour, Commander O'Brien was sent to be a Naval ROTC Instructor at Norwich University, in Vermont in September, 2013. While serving as a class advisor and teaching two college level courses, he also worked on and received a Masters in Business Administration from Norwich.

In the spring of 2016, he was selected for transition to Full Time Support for the Navy and sent to the "Eagles" of VT-7 as an instructor pilot. During his tenure there, he served as Operations Officer, ensuring both short and long term scheduling success for thousands of sorties and student events.

Commander O'Brien served as the Commanding Officer for Naval Reserve Center, White River Junction, Vermont from April 2020 through May 2023. During this time, NRC White River Junction supported multiple mobilizations and ensured the readiness of Reservists throughout the region.

Commander O'Brien has been selected to be the Reserve Program Director for Training Wing Two.
