Executive Officer

CDR Kevin Lind

A native of Dover, Massachusetts, Commander Lind graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics. In 2015, he earned an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Naval Post Graduate School. He earned his Wings of Gold in May of 2008. In June of 2008 he reported to the "Merlins" of HSC-3 to begin his initial fleet training in the MH-60S.

CDR Lind began his operational flying in January of 2009 with the "Island Knights" of HSC-25 in Guam. While an "Island Knight" he made two deployments. The first was aboard the USS ESSEX (LHD 2) supporting search and rescue and logistics and then the USS DENVER (LPD 9) supporting Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief in Taiwan. His second deployment was with the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment out of Basra, Iraq. During his tour he held the positions of Schedules Officer, Detachment Operations, Readiness and Reporting, Detachment NATOPS and Training, Detachment OIC and Quality Assurance Officer. In 2011 he was selected as HSC-25's Pilot of the Year.

In January of 2012, CDR Lind reported to the MH-60S Fleet Replacement Squadron, HSC-3, to serve as an Instructor Pilot. While at HSC-3 he held the positions of Ground Safety Officer, Aviation Safety Officer, Safety Officer, NATOPS Officer and Aerial Firefighting Program Manager.

In May of 2015 CDR Lind reported aboard the USS ARLINGTON (LPD 24). CDR Lind served as the Fuels Officer, Mini-Boss, Safety Officer, Airboss and shipyard availability coordinator. During ARLINGTON's maiden deployment, CDR Lind earned his Officer of the Deck qualification.

CDR Lind returned to flying as a Department Head with HSC-7, the "Dusty Dogs" assigned to Carrier Air Wing 3. While with the Dusty Dogs, he conducted Defense Support of Civil Authorities in the Caribbean aboard the USS WASP (LHA-1) and USS KEARSARGE (LHA-3) and a workup cycle with the USS EISENHOWER (CVN-69). His jobs included Training, Maintenance and Operations Department Head and multiple detachment OIC assignments. While assigned to the Dusty Dogs, the squadron earned two consecutive Chief of Naval Operations Safety ‘S' awards and a Retention Excellence award.

Following his Department Head tour, CDR Lind headed to Mons, Belgium from 2019-2022 working at North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). He served as the Force Generation Branch Team Leader for NATO's Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan and the Section Head for the Force Standards and Policy section.

CDR Lind has accumulated over 2,000 flight hours. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (2 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and various service awards and ribbons.
