Commander Marsik is a native of Valencia, CA. He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science in December of 2005. He commissioned in June of 2008 through Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport, RI. Marsik earned his Wings of Gold in February 2011 and reported to Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) 120 for training in the E-2C Hawkeye.
Marsik reported to his first operational tour with the "Sun Kings" of Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) 116, stationed at NS Pt. Mugu, CA in March of 2012. As a Sun King he completed two deployments onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN72) and USS CARL VINSON (CVN70) supporting U.S. 5th Fleet operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. His other operational assignment was as a Department Head with the "Bluetails" of Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) 121 in Norfolk, VA. While assigned to VAW-121 he was deployed onboard USS GEROGE H.W. BUSH (CVN77) to support operations in U.S. 6th Fleet and United States European Command between August 2022 and March 2023.
Ashore, Marsik served as a E-2C/D, C-2A, and T-6A/B Developmental Test Pilot with Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20 at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Following his Department Head tour, he reported to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 1 in Patuxent River, MD where he served as the MQ-25A Stingray Operational Test Director until his departure in April of 2025.
Marsik is a graduate of the United States Naval Test Pilot School, Class 149 and has accumulated over 4,000 flight hours. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike Flight Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
