CDR Jordan Gentry

Cmdr. Jordan Gentry grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in quantitative economics. After receiving his Wings of Gold in February 2008, he completed his initial P-3C Orion training at the "Pro's Nest" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 30 in Jacksonville, Florida.

He then reported to the "World Watchers" of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1) in Whidbey Island, Washington, where he flew the EP-3E Aries II on detachments to U.S. Central Command in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn. He also flew on detachments in U.S. Pacific Command and U.S. Special Operations Command.

In 2012, he reported to the "Rangers" of Training Squadron (VT) 28 in Corpus Christi, Texas, for instructor pilot duty in the T-34C Turbo-Mentor. While stationed in Corpus Christi, he completed a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

In 2015, he reported to the "Wizards" of Special Projects Patrol Squadron (VPU) Two in Kaneohe, Hawaii, to fly the P-3C Orion on detachments in support of worldwide operations. In 2017, he joined the "Stingrays" of VT-35 Squadron Augment Unit for instructor pilot duty as a selected reservist in the T-44C Pegasus.

When he is not performing his duties as a reservist, he flies the Boeing 737 as a First Officer for Southwest Airlines.

Gentry has logged over 4,700 flight hours in various U.S. Navy aircraft. His awards include: Air Medal (S/F)(3), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), Navy Achievement Medal, and various other unit, campaign, and service decorations.
