Tropical Cyclones

• Tropical Depression (winds 33 kts or less)
• Tropical Storm (winds 34-63 kts)
• Hurricane (winds 64 kts or greater)
• Further classified based on Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale

Hurricane Categories (Saffir-Simpson Scale)

• Category 1 | winds 65 - 82 kts.
• Category 2 | winds 83 - 95 kts.
• Category 3 | winds 96 - 113 kts.
• Category 4 | winds 114 - 135 kts.
• Category 5 | winds > 135 kts.

Accountability

• Must be able to be reached at listed recall.
• Must check in with CDO every day while away.
• Check flight schedule and web site for information.
• "Didn't know" is not an excuse.
