TRAINING SQUADRON THIRTY-ONE is the premier advanced multi-engine training squadron in the Navy. VT-31 utilizes a fleet of 54 T-44C "Pegasus" aircraft to accomplish its mission of training the best military aviators in the world. During an average year, VT-31 graduates over 250 student aviators and amasses over 27,000 flight hours. In a training environment where quality is job one, VT-31 has a running total of more than 575,000 accident-free flight hours. Off-duty, VT-31 sponsors many family events and social outings. VT-31 continually strives to promote a positive training environment through professionalism, education, and safety.

Military heritage is rich in the Corpus Christi area, with the USS Lexington, a retired aircraft carrier that has been converted into a naval museum, standing watch over beautiful Corpus Christi Bay. Corpus Christi continues to welcome back many returning service members every year.
