Pipelines
Intermediate and Advanced Flight Training
Once primary flight training is completed, Pilots and NFOs select their pipeline of training.
The five pipelines are:
1 - Jet
Once students complete Primary and select the Jet pipeline, they will then proceed to either Meridian, Mississippi, or Kingsville, Texas. Students proceeding to NAS Meridian (TRAWING 1) will go through Intermediate and Advanced jet training at either VT-7 or VT-9. Students going to NAS Kingsville (TRAWING 2) will go through Intermediate and Advanced jet training at either VT-21 or VT-22. Student will fly the T-45C Goshawk jet trainer aircraft.
2 - E2/C2
Once students complete Primary and select the E2/C2 pipeline, they will begin Intermediate Flight Training with VT-31 at TRAWING 4, NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. During Intermediate, student aviators will fly the T-44 Pegasus trainer aircraft. After successfully completing Intermediate phase, student aviators will then proceed to TRAWING 1 at NAS Meridian, Mississippi or TRAWING 2 at NAS Kingsville, Texas. During the Advanced E2/C2 training the student aviators will fly the T-45 Goshawk jet trainer aircraft.
3/4 - Maritime / E-6 TACAMO
Once students complete Primary and select the Maritime or E-6 TACAMO pipeline, they proceed to TRAWING 4 at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas, and join VT-31 or VT-35. Students train in the T-44 Pegasus multiengine trainer aircraft.
5 - Helicopter
Helicopter-select pilots advance to either HT-8, HT-18, or HT-28 under TRAWING 5 at Whiting Field, Milton, Florida, for Advanced Rotary flight training.
