MEDICAL CHITS

NATOPS gets the ORIGINAL plus a copy to SKEDS for all medical chits that you receive while attached to HT-28. The last copy is yours to keep.

  • CHECK-IN (ADMIN) CHIT - Issued by medical approximately one to two weeks following check-in. Medical WILL NOT forward these chits to the squadron, you are REQUIRED to go back to medical and pick up your chit.
  • ANNUAL PHYSICAL CHIT - An Annual Physical is required on your birth month.
  • DO YOU HAVE A MEDICAL WAIVER? If so, we MUST have a copy in your NATOPS jacket.

NATOPS JACKET

Your NATOPS jacket should be turned in to the NATOPS office immediately following the paraloft check-in. NATOPS jackets can be checked out in the NATOPS office from 8-4pm weekdays. If you have to be at NASP for HABD at 0800, you will need to pick up your jacket the day prior. DO NOT keep your jacket out any longer than NECESSARY. Your jacket SHALL be in the NATOPS office any time you are in an aircraft.

ENSURE YOU HAVE A COPY OF YOUR LATEST ORDERS IN YOUR NATOPS JACKET

You will NOT be added to the flight schedule until you have completed HABD Training, turned in your Check-In (Admin) chit and have a current ANNUAL Physical in your NATOPS Jacket. Even though you need to take your NATOPS jacket to HABD, Gear Issue, or NVD, it stays in the NATOPS office until the day prior and needs to be turned back in the following day.

GEAR ISSUE

You will need to check out your NATOPS jacket prior to going to Gear Issue. Gear Issue closes at 1400 and is closed all day Wednesday.

NVD

You will need to check out your NATOPS jacket on Friday afternoon by 3:00 so that you will have it in your possession for the Monday NVD class.

I4690 INSTRUMENT CHECK (R21)

Just prior to the flight, go to Logs & Records and fill out the Instrument Rating paperwork (rough draft). Once you've completed the flight, take your rough draft to the NATOPS Office. If the NATOPS clerk has time, the clerk will type up the form as you wait so you can sign on the spot and you won't have to come back for signature. This is the preferred way to complete this task. If you do have to leave it in the NATOPS office, check back the following day so you can sign the smooth copy which must be circulated for signatures before being posted in your NATOPS jacket.
