LtCol Jamie Glines

Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Glines commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 2004, earned his wings in 2007 and became a UH-1 "Huey" pilot. He is currently the Helicopter Training Squadron 28 (HT-28) Executive Officer and is slated to command HT-28 beginning in the fall of 2023. He and his wife, Elise, have been married 11 years and have four children: Arlene, Jordan, Michael and Zoe.

Lieutenant Colonel Glines completed training as a UH-1 pilot in the fall of 2007 and reported to Marine Light Attack Helicopter (HMLA) Squadron 267 where he became one of the first pilots to fly the upgraded UH-1, the UH-1Y. He deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as part of the HMLA-267 "Stinger" detachment, which marked the inaugural deployment of the UH-1Y. Upon return from the MEU, Lieutenant Colonel Glines attached to the HMLA-369 "Gunfighters" and deployed to the Helmand Province, Afghanistan twice from 2010 to 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During this time he earned his advanced certification as a Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) and accumulated over 600 combat flight hours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. From 2012 to 2015 Lieutenant Colonel Glines served at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) as a UH-1 Instructor Pilot (IP), which included service as the UH-1 Division Head during his final year. In this capacity, he instructed, mentored, and evaluated future generations of UH-1 pilots and crew chiefs as they earned advanced certifications and designations as WTIs.

After his successful tour at MAWTS-1, LtCol Glines was board-selected for the Congressional Fellowship Program and served on the personal staff of Congressman Rob Wittman (R-Va-01) in 2016. His portfolio included Veterans Affairs, military health care, the Maritime Industrial Base, and the US Naval Academy Board of Visitors. Upon completion of the congressional fellowship, was assigned to the Headquarters Marine Corps, Department of Aviation, where he served in the Pentagon as the Congressional Liaison to the Deputy Commandant for Aviation from 2017 to 2019. During this time Lieutenant Colonel Glines also attended the Naval War College Fleet Seminar Program and earned a Master of Arts Degree in Defense and Strategic Studies.

Lieutenant Colonel Glines departed the Pentagon in January 2019 and returned to the "Gunfighters" at HMLA-369 where he immediately assumed the role of Executive Officer and deployed with the squadron to Okinawa, Japan later that year. He returned from deployment in June 2020 and assumed the duties of Operations Officer at Marine Air Group (MAG) 39 where he managed and supervised flight hour execution, ordnance expenditure and large-scale exercise development and execution for the Marine Corps' largest MAG until 2022.

Lieutenant Colonel Glines' personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (12), and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4).
