The Check-Out Process

Information for Students

Important Reminders
  • Make sure your DPS account (MOVE) is updated electronically.
  • If Married or you have dependants, ensure your Page 2 (Navy) or Record of Emergency Data "RED" (Marine) is updated.
  1. See the Winging clerk for Check-out packets the day following your Softpatch.
  2. Leave is NOT authorized until all Check-out packets are turned in.
  3. Once orders are avail on Bupers Online (BOL), please see the Winging clerk ASAP to process your Personnel Service Detachment (PSD) paperwork into the Transaction Online Processing System.
  4. For Married Navy Wingers claiming Dislocation Allowance (DLA) and Advance Travel for you and your dependents, you will have to attach your Page 2 with your paperwork. Please print out your updated Page 2, sign, and give the original to the Winging clerk.
  5. If you have to go to Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training, you will need these documents before you leave:
    1. Updated Security Clearance. You will obtain this information from our Admin Supervisor. You will have to take this security clearance document to SERE - if you don't have it, they will not let you in.
    2. SERE Medical screening chit. This medical screening has to be completed within 14 days of the SERE class convening date. See the STUCON Clerk to obtain the SERE medical screening paperwork to give to medical for completion.
    3. Once the final PSD paperwork has been signed by STUCON Officer, the Winging clerk will provide a copy. You will then go to Flight Ops and tell them your day of detachment and SNIVEL for no events that day.
  1. See the Winging clerk for Check-out packets the day following your Softpatch.
  2. Leave is NOT authorized until all Check-out packets are turned in.
  3. All PCS paperwork will be submitted to MATSG-21 for processing. MATSG-21 will provide your PCS orders. Once you get your orders and receive your day of detachment, notify the Winging clerk ASAP. You will then SNIVEL for no events that day. All Marines shall complete a Fitness Report (FITREP) prior to detaching HT-28, see the Senior Marine for FITREP guidance.
  4. If you have to go to Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training, you will need these documents before you leave:
    1. MATSG-21 will notify you of SERE requirements.
    2. Updated Security Clearance. You will obtain this information from our Admin Supervisor. You will have to take this security clearance document to SERE - if you don't have it, they will not let you in.
    3. SERE Medical screening chit. MATSG-21 will provide information regarding the medical screening.
    4. MATSG-21 will provide TAD orders to go to SERE, please notify the HT-28 STUCON Clerk and Flight Ops ASAP with the dates.
    5. You will come back from SERE before checking-out of HT-28.
  1. See the Winging clerk for Check-out packets the day following your Softpatch.
  2. Coast Guard and Allied wingers usually check-out the following Monday given they will be busy with winging events.
  1. MV-22 on Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) orders: Following completion of your Last Flight Flown (LFF), expect to depart the next day. See the STUCON Clerk 3 days before your LFF to pick up the check-out packets.
  2. MV-22 who are needing orders: See the STUCON Clerk 3 days before your LFF to pick up the check-out packet.

WINGING

NATOPS will enter your Naval Aviator designation and grades into your NATOPS jacket the week of your winging ceremony. Ensure your NATOPS jacket is in the NATOPS office during this time to prevent check-out delays.


CHECK-OUT

Ensure that you have turned in your NATOPS Manual and PCL prior to checking out with NATOPS. Also, you will only be able to check out of NATOPS on your last day in the squadron.
