CDR Margaret K. Robie

CDR Margaret (Maggie) Robie was raised in Westfield, New Jersey and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography. Upon her commissioning, she reported to NAS Pensacola for flight training and was winged at NAS Whiting Field in July 2010. Subsequently, she reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWO (HSC-2) for initial training in the MH-60S Knight Hawk.

Her first assignment was with the "Dragon Whales" of HSC-28. She deployed aboard USNS Supply (T-AOE 6) in 2012 and USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) in 2013, supporting U.S. 5th Fleet and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility (AORs). During this tour CDR Robie served as Legal Officer, Assistant Training Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer.

In 2014, CDR Robie reported to the "Vigilant Eagles" of Helicopter Training Squadron EIGHTEEN (HT-18) as an Instructor Pilot in the TH-57. While assigned to HT-18, she served as the Supply Officer, Logs and Records Officer, and Squadron NATOPS Officer. She was recognized as the HT-18 Pensacola Lions Club Outstanding Instructor Pilot for 2016.

In 2017, CDR Robie reported aboard the USS SAN DIEGO (LPD-22) as Air Officer (AIR BOSS) and Safety Officer, deploying to U.S. 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleet AORs.

CDR Robie transitioned to the Naval Reserves in 2018 and joined the HT-18 Squadron Augment Unit (SAU) as a Reserve Instructor Pilot in the TH-57. She supported Training Air Wing 5 active component in a full-time capacity as part of the Advanced Helicopter Training System (AHTS) team to fly and develop curriculum for the TH-73 Thrasher. During her time there, CDR Robie served as Day Familiarization / Land / Sea/SAR Stages Manager, Training Officer, Operations Officer, and HITU instructor. She was recognized as the 2023 CNATRA Selected Reserve Instructor Pilot of the Year and 2022 CNATRA Association of the United States Navy (AUSN) Selected Reserve Junior Officer of the Year.

CDR Robie currently serves as the SAU Commanding Officer for the "Vigilant Eagles" of HT-18 at NAS Whiting Field.

CDR Robie has accumulated more than 4,000 flight hours. Her awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards) and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon, and various other service, unit, and campaign awards.
