CDR Peter A. Linsky

CDR Pete "Heavy" Linsky is a native of Reading, PA and graduated from Pennsylvania State University in December 2002 with a degree in Accounting. In 2015, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University.

After being designated a Naval Aviator in March 2005, Linsky reported to Airborne Mine Countermeasures Weapons System Training School (AWSTS) for training in the MH-53E Sea Dragon stationed at Naval Station Norfolk. After completion of training, he reported to the “Black Stallions” of HC-4. Linsky assisted the OIC in Norfolk as the squadron conducted a homeport move from Sigonella Italy to Naval Station Norfolk in anticipation of its decommissioning. During this time, he accumulated over 150 flight hours and earned his H2P qualification in the MH-53E. Following a historic run, the squadron was ordered to decommission in 2007. 

In June 2007 Linsky reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 2 for training in the MH-60S Knighthawk stationed at Naval Station Norfolk. After completion of training, he reported to the "Chargers" of HSC-26. Linsky completed two deployments to Manama, Bahrain serving as the Operations Officer with the "World Famous Desert Hawks" of HSC-26 DET-1, providing logistic support to U.S. and Coalition ships throughout the Arabian Gulf.

In January 2010, Linsky reported to the "Hellions" of Helicopter Training Squadron (HT) 28 as an Instructor Pilot. While assigned to HT-28, he served as the Flight Operations Leader and held multiple qualifications including all qualifications in the TH-57B.

In September 2012, Linsky accepted an Individual Augmentation (IA) and was forward deployed to Isa Airbase, Bahrain where he served as Air Operations Officer leading 90 Joint Personnel supporting operations of transient aircraft and assigned Patrol, Logistic, and Strike squadrons.

Linsky finished his Active Duty time with the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) instructing Officer Leadership courses located on Corry Station, Pensacola. In 2014, then LT Linsky, left active duty and joined the Naval Reserve Forces with Training Wing Five at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Florida.. He currently serves as an instructor pilot and Squadron Augment Unit Commanding officer at HT-28.

Linsky has accumulated over 4,000 flight hours, over 3,000 in the TH-57. His military decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (5), and various other personal and unit awards.
